The Flat Sisters (フラット三姉妹, Furatto sanshimai; lit. "flat three sisters") are a group of three sisters and members of the Ghost Chess.

Etymology

"Flat" is a musical symbol (♭) that lowers the pitch of a note by a semitone. The term may also be used as an adjective to describe a situation where a singer or musician is performing a note in which the intonation is an eighth or a quarter of a semitone too low. The letters "A", "B", and "C", are given a German pronunciation.

Flat A, Grave the Wonder

Grave, Flat A

Grave (グレイブ, Gureibu), also known as Flat A (フラット・アー, Furatto ā), is the eldest of the three sisters.

She has a calm and mysterious personality. Her name comes from the musical term grave meaning "dignified and somber in manner or character", and also the Italian word for "solemn". This marks an extremely slow tempo, below 60 BPM, and was used in pieces like Adagio in B Minor by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Her phrase when forming Rotkäppchen is "steal thy love".

Flat B, Allegro the Vicious

Allegro, Flat B

Allegro (アレグロ, Areguro), also known as Flat B (フラット・ベー, Furatto Bē), is the middle child of the three sisters.

She has a masculine personality, referring to herself with the first person pronoun "ore", and is constantly seen yelling at her sisters. Her name comes from the musical term allegro meaning "in a quick and lively tempo", and is the Italian word for "cheerful".

Her phrase while forming Rotkäppchen is "burn thy passion".

Flat C, Moderato the Shy

Moderato, Flat C

Moderato (モデラート, Moderāto), also known as Flat C (フラット・ツェー, Furatto Tsu~ē), is the youngest of the three sisters.

The only one who wears glasses, she is quiet and has a decent personality among her three sisters. Her name comes from the musical term moderato meaning "tempo at a moderate pace", though this term is largely ambiguous and open to interpretation per the conductor.

Her phrase while forming Rotkäppchen is "dance the steps to victory".

History

After losing their parents, the sisters were taken in by Kapel Meister and received the power of Ghost ÄRMs. Extremely loyal to their leader, they even refer to him as 'big brother'.

Out of annoyance that Ginta and Jack were not taking them seriously, the Flat Sisters activate Rotkäppchen Waltzer while battling them along the coast of Pultgayin Island. The boys were dumbfounded, but Ginta quickly snapped out it and countered it with Babbo's Version 3, Gargoyle. Rotkäppchen Waltzer uses its Finger Beam and Super Jet Punch against Gargoyle. Saint Anger joins in the fight against Rotkäppchen Waltzer, as Alan and Nanashi arrive on the scene. Gargoyle arm thrusts Rotkäppchen Waltzer down, and the girls receive a message from Sarah Band and Kapel Meister to retreat, as their mission to capture Alviss was successful.

The Flat Sisters activate Rotkäppchen Waltzer to stop Alviss from ascending up the stairs to Clavier. They leap into the air to drop Apple Bombs upon all of their opponents. Chaton dodges the bombs in front of her by backflipping, but is caught in the explosive force of a bomb behind her, sending her flying across the ground. Rotkäppchen Waltzer attempts to step on Chaton with its spiked shoe, but is stopped when Loco casts her Negzero to paralyze it, and uses her Straw Doll, Hammer, and Spikes one last time to save Chaton.

When the Flat Sisters reactivate Rotkäppchen Waltzer to fight back against Dorothy's Rock Giant Golem, Loco looks over Chaton's shoulder to observe. She realizes that the curse from her Negzero was still in effect on the Ghost Guardian, and now that she was de-aged back into an infant, was unable to remove the curse and noted that the girls trying to move while under the curse would be extremely dangerous. Nonetheless, the girls struggle, only to be forcefully ejected from Rotkäppchen Waltzer and deactivates, leaving the sisters in critical condition.

Along with General and Pause, the sisters met their end when Kapel Meister turned on them and absorbed them into his body. Unlike their two teammates, the three sisters held no ill will to their master as they perished, and considered it a blessing to die for him.

• Rotkäppchen Waltzer: Combines A, B and C into a large Red Riding Hood-like guardian that uses physical and energy attacks. Bears a strong resemblance to Akazukin Chacha
