"Well...we humans of Caldea grow up touching ÄRMs from the moment we are born. My magical powers are fundamentally different from you guys... Even that handicap is minimal!"
―Schweitzer to Team MÄR

Schweitzer (シュバイツァ, Shubaitsu~a) is a character in MÄR Heaven: Devil of Caldea and MÄR Heaven: Oblivion of Clavier. He is the priest of Caldea Temple, and considered to be the most violent man in all of Caldea.

Appearance[]

DS-FullArt Schweitzer

Full body artwork of Schweitzer.

Schweitzer is a tall grey haired man with blue eyes, blue tattoo markings on his forehead, and rectangular glasses. He wears a white collar and purple shawl with his forest green outfit and steel-toed leather boots.

Personality[]

As expected with the reputation of "most violent man in Caldea", Schweitzer loves to fight and enjoys the thrill of battle. He finds delight in competition and creative games with his opponents. He loves fighting so much that he even willingly lends his opponents ÄRMs to handicap himself to get the most out of a battle.

In spite of his battle lust, he has stated that he doesn't believe in hurting women.

History[]

MÄR Heaven: Devil of Caldea[]

AKT.4 Caldea Temple[]

Team MÄR travels to Caldea Temple and find Schweitzer randomly standing atop the archway of the temple, and he jumps down to greet them. In their small talk, Schweitzer gives Alan praise for his draw against Halloween in the previous War Games and proposes a 1-on-1 battle to test his strength. Alviss becomes annoyed with Schweitzer's arrogance and steps in to accept the challenge in Alan's place, but Schweitzer dismisses him not being strong enough. Alan gives Alviss appreciation but agrees to the challenge. They signal the start of the fight with a fist-bump and clash using only fiery ÄRMs.

After Alan displays his might, Schweitzer proposes a challenge in exchange for information about Gotchi and the Earth Jugglers. For the first challenge, he makes them play hide-'n-seek, where they have to solve puzzles to unlock two different doors that lets them explore the whole interior of the temple. They eventually find him outside at the back, as he was waiting for them. For the next challenge, he has them play tag with him across the Infinite Desert.

Alan beats up Schweitzer

Schweitzer is beaten up by Alan in front of the colosseum.

MÄR catches up to him at the colosseum at the back of the temple and he congratulates their success at crossing the Infinite Desert. Babbo disses the challenge, as he would never be fooled by such an illusion. Schweitzer admits his awe of meeting the only ÄRM with the ability to download personalities. After his defeat, Schweitzer upholds his end of the bargain and tells them all he knows before teleporting away.

He goes to the chapel of Magritte Cemetery to report to Daffy. She expresses shock that a brawler like himself could lose in a fist fight. Schweitzer assures her that he wouldn't lose in a 1-on-1 fight. He then asks if his job with her was done and warns them of Ginta, highlighting that despite him being a kid, his powers and sixth sense are good. Wheat accuses him of being cowardly, and Schweitzer fires back saying a brat like her can't even get Gotchi to listen to her. Wheat attempts to wake Gotchi up from his inactive state but Daffy intervenes by yelling at them both to stop bickering.

Daffy then confirms that Schweitzer's job was done and that he was free to go. Wheat insists on fighting with Schweitzer, daring him to hit her. Schweitzer states that it's his policy to not hit women. Wheat accuses him of lying, highlighting him striking Dorothy as proof, but he responds that she's no woman, she's a devil.

AKT.9 Caldea Palace[]

Epilogue[]

After Gotchi is destroyed and Daffy is executed, Team MÄR prepares to return to Reginleif to resume the War Games. Schweitzer travels to Caldea Town to meet with Alan, expressing his reverence and best wishes.

MÄR Heaven: Oblivion of Clavier[]

When Alviss falls victim to a powerful Ghost ÄRM, Dorothy is sent by Iffy to fetch Schweitzer and bring him back to Caldea Palace for his service, as even among Caldeans, Schweitzer would be the only one with enough magic power to use the Holy ÄRM, Gabriel Kiss. Upon arrival, he meets with Wheat in the palace research room and she hands him the ÄRM so he can "fine tune" it. While Iffy and Dorothy hastily prepare the room next door for treatment, Schweitzer and Wheat make small talk about Alviss, in which he identifies him as "the one who uses the extremely painful Sealing Skull with a nonchalant face". He suddenly notices that Alviss's Zombie Tattoo is progressing at an alarming rate.

Kiss of the Archangel

Iffy and Dorothy signal for them to bring Alviss into the next room and put him on a pedestal. Schweitzer takes the treasure, and musters up his magic power to activate the Legendary Holy ÄRM, Gabriel Kiss. Alviss is enveloped in a pillar of prism light, causing him to restlessly twist and turn on the pedestal. With encouragement from Dorothy, Wheat, and Belle, he bears with the treatment. After several moments, Schweitzer deactivates the ÄRM and Alviss slowly sits up. Iffy asks him how he was feeling, and Alviss stands on his feet, responding that most of the pain had subsided. Alviss takes note of the Ghost ÄRM still on his body. Both Iffy and Schweitzer explain that Gabriel Kiss only removed the physical pain caused by the Ghost ÄRM, and so long as it remains on his body, time will continue to move faster on him and further advance the progression of the Zombie Tattoo.

Back in the research room, Iffy explains to Alviss what Ghost ÄRMs are and gives information regarding Misty Castle when he inquires about it. Schweitzer leaves to do some investigating on his own in Reginleif and Iffy and Wheat offer some countermeasures against Ghost ÄRMs to Dorothy.

ÄRMs[]

Despite his heavy use of fire Nature ÄRMs, Schweitzer is an earth attribute brawler that prefers offensive tactics, and holds such powerful magic that he easily compares to the Knight class of the Chess, according to Alan.:

  • Melt Ice: A Nature ÄRM that conjures flame.
  • Flame Ball: Nature ÄRM, creates balls of fire that float around the user that can be launched as projectiles or used to strengthen Weapon ÄRMs.
  • Flame Sword: A Nature ÄRM that materializes a flaming sword and flies clockwise around its user, piercing foes.
  • Fire Burning: A Nature ÄRM that creates a large fire ball, which bursts into smaller fire balls that fly in each direction.
  • Earth Attack: A Nature ÄRM that drops a huge boulder on top of a foe.
  • Quake: A powerful Guardian ÄRM that can make the ground tremor and rain falling rocks down upon its foes.
  • Minotaur: A Guardian ÄRM that charges and tramples enemies with its large body.
  • Power Ring: A Nature ÄRM that enhances one's strength for physical offense.
  • Healing Angel: A Holy ÄRM that can heal injuries, to a certain extent.
  • Gabriel Kiss: A legendary Holy ÄRM borrowed from the vaults of Caldea Palace to heal Alviss of the immense pain of the Ghost ÄRM on his body.

In-Game Stats[]

VS. Schweitzer[]

In the first battle, Schweitzer challenges Alan to a 1-on-1 battle to test strength and is given an exact copy of the fire attribute deck Schweitzer uses for the battle. If Alan is defeated, the game will be over immediately, so it is important to avoid being attacked by your opponent. Focus on constantly moving and avoiding his attacks.

VS. Schweitzer[]

Unlike the first battle, this time Schweitzer is centered around earth-attribute and non-attribute ÄRM. He also has Healing Angel★3 in his deck, so be careful as he may recover HP many times if the battle drags on. Since Schweitzer is an earth attribute, it is effective to attack with wind attribute ÄRM. It is highly recommended the Air Hammer★4 found inside the Caldea Temple. Not only is it a high class, but its attributes are also advantageous with wind, so it should be able to deal a lot of damage to Schweitzer.

VS. Shadow Schweitzer[]

Shadow Schweitzer is earth attribute, so it's best to fight with a deck that incorporates wind attribute ÄRM. Also, many of Shadow Schweitzer's ÄRM attacks are easy to dodge, so you can avoid taking damage even if you don't cancel by activating an ÄRM. If you increase the number of attacks by adding more ÄRMs for attacks, you can bring it to a short decisive battle. If you have room in your deck, you can add All Wind Change or Wind Area to further advance the battle.
