Phoenix (フェニックス, Fenikkusu) is a Guardian ÄRM.

Etymology and Origin[]

The word first entered the English language by way of a borrowing of Latin phoenīx into Old English (fenix). The Latin word comes from Greek φοῖνιξ (phoinix). The Greek word is first attested in the Mycenaean Greek po-ni-ke, which probably meant "griffin", though it might have meant "palm tree". That word is probably a borrowing from a West Semitic word for madder, a red dye made from Rubia tinctorum. The word Phoenician appears to be from the same root, meaning "those who work with red dyes". So phoenix may mean "the Phoenician bird" or "the purplish-red bird".

In Greek mythology, the Phoenix is a mythical bird known for its ability to be reborn from its ashes, symbolizing immortality and renewal. It is often depicted as a beautiful and majestic creature with brightly colored feathers and a long tail.

In Other Media[]

In the video games, Phoenix is an obtainable ÄRM that can be used by Snow. Instead of serving an offensive purpose, its power is used to restore a character who is unable to fight. If activated successfully, it will not be canceled or countered by an enemy.

MÄR Heaven: Devil of Caldea[]

Phoenix is found inside the chapel at Magritte Cemetery, and only comes as a Class 5 ÄRM.
