"I used to argue a lot with Danna and Ginta. I always made fun of the märchen world they talked about. But that's not because I didn't believe in it, but probably because I was scared of accepting that there is one."
―Mrs. Toramizu
Anime
Manga

Mrs. Toramizu (ギンタママ, Ginta-Mama) is Danna's wife and Ginta's mother.

Appearance[]

Mrs. Toramizu has brown eyes and dark blonde hair, occasionally combed over to cover her right eye. She wears a necklace made of black rope with a silver pendant at the end. Her attire consists of a long sleeved dark blue shirt and skinny jeans.

Personality[]

Despite writing fairy tales for a living, she has a very practical outlook on the world and is hesitant to vocalize any belief in the stories she writes as reality. She also playfully lectures Ginta for playing too many video games and slacking off at school.

History[]

Since her own childhood, she frequently saw the world of MÄR Heaven in her dreams through the eyes of a girl named Diana, leading her to become an author when she became an adult. She married Danna Toramizu, a märchen romanticist, and gave birth to their son Ginta.

While raising their young son, she often scolded Danna for reading her stories to Ginta out of embarrassment, though Danna would immaturely tease her back knowing that it secretly made her happy.

Danna's Disappearance[]

Upon Danna's disappearance, both Mrs. Toramizu and her son Ginta became saddened over the event. While Ginta, who was only eight years old at the time, didn't suspect much about his father's whereabouts, his mother became paranoid over time at the possibility that Danna somehow ended up in the fairy tale world that she wrote of. Nevertheless, she carried on without her husband and worked hard to raise her son alone, sometimes harshly criticizing her son's dreaming even up to his middle school days.

One night, Mrs. Toramizu dismissed the possibility of a fairy tale world existing and that Ginta's recurring dreams had any meaning. While handing him rice for dinner, she informed her son that his teacher called earlier and lectured Ginta for sleeping in class. Ginta pointed out that she writes fairy tales for a living as an argument, but she aggravatingly shouted back that her profession doesn't reflect her actual beliefs, and that she works hard to provide for him. Ginta threatened to rebel but she told him to toughen up before dropping out of school.

Ginta's Disappearance[]

The next day, Mrs. Toramizu was typing at her computer at home when she sensed the moment that Ginta had passed through the door of Gatekeeper Clown to MÄR Heaven.

Two Weeks Later

Mrs. Toramizu devastated by her son's disappearance.

For two weeks, she spent her time sitting in silence, heartbroken by her son's disappearance. At the sound of the doorbell, she thinks it could be Ginta, but is disappointed when opening to see it is Koyuki who came to check on her wellbeing. Koyuki borrows the kitchen to prepare fried chicken for her, trying to cheer her up. She asked if perhaps Ginta ran away from home because he was mad with her, but Koyuki dismisses this, saying she saw Ginta go through a door to the other world. Mrs. Toramizu dolefully interrupted her, explaining how Danna disappeared in a similar scenario after increasingly talking about the märchen world existing. She stated that she couldn't bring herself to believe in such a world because she would then feel robbed of her husband, before tearing up at the reality that her son was gone, too.

Koyuki then decides to open up about her own dreams, telling his mother that she sees Ginta every night in her dreams. Shocked, Mrs. Toramizu calms down and listens to Koyuki as she speaks of being a princess of a powerful kingdom in the world of MÄR Heaven. Koyuki becomes flustered as she indirectly mentions kissing him as an "accident" after being saved by him, and tells her not to worry for Ginta's wellbeing because he's doing fine while currently training with Princess Snow. Mrs. Toramizu giggles at Koyuki for sounding just like her moronic son, saying she'll try believing in it a little. Koyuki assures her that Ginta will return, as she made him promise that he'd come home with many stories of his adventures.

Meetings with Koyuki[]

Koyuki continued to visit Mrs. Toramizu daily after school to give her updates on Ginta's activities in MÄR Heaven, as well as notebooks of copies of her notes that she takes at school. She applauds Koyuki's fiery intent to glue Ginta to a desk to study, and happily listens to the progress of Team MÄR while discussing the War Games.

Visits became less frequent after the sixth round of the War Games, as Koyuki couldn't see anything while Snow was held in stasis by the Queen of the Chess Pieces.
