Fort Zwicken (ツビッケン砦, Tsubikken Toride) is a fortified gate appearing in MÄR Heaven: Oblivion of Clavier.
Toponymy and Origin[]
Zwicken is a verb meaning 'to pinch, twitch, peg,' from Middle High German zwicken, 'to fasten with nails, squeeze in, pinch, tug'.
History[]
Fort Zwicken lies on the southern border of Reginleif. After the first phase of the Second Great MÄR Heaven War, the Princess of Reginleif ordered border guards that were stationed there to only allow merchants to pass through for the sake of delivering supplies for rebuilding settlements that were attacked like Acalupa Port.
MÄR Heaven: Oblivion of Clavier[]
While on their way to Acalupa Port, Team MÄR is stopped by a pair of border guards at Fort Zwicken denying them passage. MÄR pleads with them to make an exception, and the guards are swayed into allowing them to pass through on one condition: ridding the dragon that lurks near Blitz Lake which threatens passing merchants. MÄR goes to Blitz Lake to do as they're asked, and upon return, are allowed to pass through the checkpoint.
