- "This temple has been in the Schweitzer family for generations since my great-grandfather! There are various devices to protect it from foreign enemies... Only I know... What a fun device! As I said, there are plenty of tricks! Well then, I'll be waiting for you at the Colosseum in the temple!"
- ―Schweitzer to Team MÄR
Caldea Temple (カルデア神殿, Karudea Shinden) is a holy site on Aunt Island in Caldea. It is overseen by its priest, Schweitzer.
Overview[]
For generations, the Schweitzer family served as priests of the temple. Magic power has historically been easier to gather on Aunt Island than on the other islands of Caldea. Various rituals have been performed here rather than in Caldea Palace. In addition, there is also a small colosseum on the temple grounds that is used as a sacred battlefield. The temple itself is equipped with a variety of traps to defend against intruders.

MÄR Heaven: Devil of Caldea[]
AKT.4 Caldea Temple[]
Team MÄR travels to Caldea Temple and find Schweitzer randomly standing atop the archway of the temple, and he jumps down to greet them. In their small talk, Schweitzer gives Alan praise for his draw against Halloween in the previous War Games and proposes a 1-on-1 battle to test his strength. Alviss becomes annoyed with Schweitzer's arrogance and steps in to accept the challenge in Alan's place, but Schweitzer dismisses him not being strong enough. Alan gives Alviss appreciation but agrees to the challenge. They signal the start of the fight with a fist-bump and clash using only fiery ÄRMs.
After Alan displays his might, Schweitzer proposes a challenge in exchange for information about Gotchi and the Earth Jugglers. For the first challenge, he makes them play hide-'n-seek, where they have to solve puzzles to unlock two different doors that lets them explore the whole interior of the temple. They eventually find him outside at the back, as he was waiting for them. For the next challenge, he has them play tag with him across the Infinite Desert, and in the colosseum of the temple they finally have a battle against him. After his defeat, Schweitzer upholds his end of the bargain and tells them all he knows before teleporting away.
Strategy Guide[]
Caldea Temple is the only dungeon in which you battle the same boss twice, first to gain access to the dungeon and second to clear it. To open up all the passages in your search for Schweitzer, you'll have to solve a couple of puzzles. The first is relatively easy, as a cutscene will occur once you visit the ends of both corridors that split off from the main entry hall. Edward and Izune will wait at the switch at the end of the left passage and the rest of your party will have to head for the switch at the end of the right passage. Once both groups are there, they will press the two switches simultaneously to lower a wall that leads to two sets of stair cases. The one leading to the basement is sealed off, and to open it you must solve the second more complicated puzzle that involves the next five stories up.
Opening access to B1 requires a sort of treasure chest password on 6F where there are nine treasure chests. To solve the puzzle, it is crucial to take note of the placement of the lone treasure chests found on 2F, 3F, 4F, and 5F. If you end up getting it wrong, you can still try again, though this also opens up the opportunity to fight an enemy witch who is as tough as Schweitzer himself.

After unlocking the stairs to B1, you'll go through a zig-zag hall that will take you back outside at the back of the temple, where Schweitzer waits. He proposes one more game before battle, which involves following him through the Infinite Desert. This desert, despite its small size, is difficult to navigate due to constant sandstorms and illusions. When following Schweitzer through it, he appears in multiple places and going in different directions, but only one is the real him. If you succeed in following him, you'll find him waiting for you in front of the colosseum on the temple grounds, ready for you to battle him once more.
